A Front-Row Seat to the Future of Commerce: Dematic at CeMAT 2024

Intralogistics Redefined with a Visionary Stand

Dematic’s presence at CeMAT 2024 transcended mere space occupancy—it embodied a masterful display of strategic exhibition setup. Commanding the entrance of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) last July 23-25, the booth served as the portal to the event where standards were not just met but redefined, affirming their market leadership in automated intralogistics.

Securing the largest and most strategic location ensured Dematic’s immediate visibility, enticing visitors into the heart of its operational excellence through a spanning interactive LED screen. Their innovative 6x18m booth layout with diverse product exhibits set new industry benchmarks at the event, complemented by seamless synergy with Colby showcasing their collaborative strength.

In an area where every square foot counts, Dematic’s smart use of space stood out on the exhibition floor and raised the bar for how companies can influence and lead at CeMAT.

Challenges

Venturing into CeMAT 2024, the country’s premier trade show for intralogistics, robotics, automation, and related fields, Dematic aimed to solidify its position as an innovative market leader and premier industry solutions provider. As such, the stand needed to reflect its cutting-edge technology and industry dominance through live automation technology displays and high-impact multimedia presentations.

Moreover, they wanted a visually cohesive and engaging setup seamlessly integrating the Dematic and Colby brands, showcasing synergy and delivering a unified visitor experience.

Additional goals include:

  • Cultivate a welcoming, exciting, and informative atmosphere with equipment demos and interactive displays.
  • Designate one to two meeting areas with some privacy but not fully enclosed.
  • Feature a barista bar with a coffee machine and recycled, branded cups.
  • Equip each product exhibit with small screens to illustrate specific solutions.
  • Make resources accessible through an interactive library of brochures, virtual site tours, and presentations.
  • Ensure the booth is innovative and striking, yet clean and minimalist (light and bright minimalist overall design).
  • Incorporate a lockable storage area with power points for PC storage and recharging demo equipment overnight.

The Build

Drawing inspiration from their booth designs showcased globally, the resulting 6x18m stand (6x12m for Dematic and 6x6m for Colby), welcomed event attendees with a massive, gracefully arched banner serving as a unified centrepiece over both stand areas. Designed with a minimalist approach against a white backdrop and accentuated by bold yellow lines, the overhead display featured both brand names, symbolising their collaborative efforts.

As guests stepped into the booth, they were immediately drawn to the strategically placed curved L-shaped LED screen, showcasing an interactive virtual warehouse tour that immediately engaged them in Dematic’s automated intralogistics journey.

As they moved through the exhibit, attendees were enticed by various product areas where moving and static equipment were demonstrated, and smaller TV screens provided detailed information about each display.

The flooring, adorned with grey carpet tiles for both spaces and vibrant yellow fabric squares separating the Dematic and Colby areas, guided visitors through a bright and spacious environment. The stand’s cohesive design also included a reception counter where coffee was served, adjacent to a meeting space that offered privacy for discussions while still allowing guests to view and inquire about the products.

Results

Dematic’s standout presence at CeMAT 2024, measured by peer feedback from customers and the quality of prospects gained from the event, marked a triumph and established its leadership in automated intralogistics. With Expo Centric‘s flair for integrating live automation displays, interactive tours, and dynamic presentations, Dematic set a new benchmark for industry influence and innovation at the exhibition.

“The whole process [of] working [with] Expo Centric has been really great. From the first initial concept call, they understood our brief and what we were trying to achieve at CeMAT this year.
