When and where does logistics get loud, forklifts race for glory, and robots run the show?
At CeMAT Australia 2025, held at The Dome, Sydney Olympic Park from 22–24 July, the future of warehousing took centre stage. With packed aisles, standing-room-only Knowledge Theatre sessions, and a forklift competition that brought the torque, this was a trade show turned full-throttle logistics takeover.
Our team at Expo Centric walked the floor, dodged a few bots, and rounded up the boldest automation, slickest tech, and smartest solutions that stole the spotlight.
Watch the Show Highlights here:
Dematic: Full-Throttle Floor Game
Dematic went big with a power-packed showcase of automation and warehouse intelligence. With AutoStore bots zipping, AGVs flexing, and a Pallet Shuttle 4-way stealing glances, our very own client turned one of The Dome’s prime spots into a live-action smart warehouse. Throw in Colby racking, a curved LED hub, and the busiest barista counter on the floor, and you’ve got the blueprint for peak logistics swagger.

Contech: Clean Lines, Killer Flow
Our client Contech nailed the less-is-more approach, until you looked closer and realised it was a full-blown automation loop in motion. Their compact case packer, integrated conveyor line, and branded demo boxes worked together like clockwork, simulating real-world packaging with surgical precision. Backed by a live video wall and slick stand design, this was case handling at its smoothest.

BEUMER Group: Bag It, Stack It, Flex It
BEUMER, another Expo Centric client in the spotlight, kept it clean, sharp, and straightforward. Their end-of-line packaging demo showed exactly how bagging, sealing, and pallet presentation should be done: efficient, modular, and ready to roll. With stacked product front and centre, digital touchpoints across the stand, and that cool blue “Materials Handling Made Different” banner above it all, BEUMER proved you don’t need to be loud to leave a mark.

Kardex x AutoStore: Towering Storage, Tiny Bots
When Kardex said they were taking storage to new heights, they meant it—literally. Their AutoStore demo featured red cube-like bots gliding across an aluminium grid, fetching bins from a stacked sky of stock. With elegant scale and efficient design, it was both a visual anchor and a flex in goods-to-person automation.
BlueSword Robotics: Live, Lit, and Loaded
It played out like a logistics algorithm brought to life: automated shuttles, smart lifts, and AMRs syncing in seamless motion beneath sky-high storage racks. BlueSword showed what happens when legacy meets innovation by blending brand heritage (“Since 1993”) with real-time, full-system motion. The crowd couldn’t stop watching.
Universal Robots + AMR Tote System: Small but Mighty
A lightweight setup with heavyweight smarts. A cobot arm handled totes with surgical precision while mobile robots zipped along a lower track. It was the kind of flexible, micro-fulfilment-ready solution that proves you don’t need a football field to automate like a pro.
Damon Australia: Conveyor Theatre in Motion
Imagine a full logistics line (think rollers, diverters, pallet checkers) all live, all choreographed. Damon’s booth was a production line turned spectacle, with safety bumpers and real motion sensors built right in. If conveyor envy were a thing, this would be the trigger.
Schmalz and TAWI: Vacuum Lifting, Zero Effort
Who knew suction could look so satisfying? Schmalz and TAWI invited attendees to try their ergonomic lifting systems hands-on, gliding boxes like pros. It was automation with a human touch, perfect for safety-first warehouses tired of the heavy lifting.
TMHA’s Swarm Automation Storage: Smart and Seriously Slick
Toyota Material Handling turned heads with its Swarm Automation Storage, a synchronised ballet of AGVs and pallet shuttles solving the dual challenge of labour and space. Integrated with the T-ONE Warehouse Execution System, it was smart, scalable, and built for the 24/7 hustle.
Libiao + Infios: Little Bots, Big Moves
Libiao’s yellow AMRs looked playful, but don’t be fooled. These compact sorters, paired with Infios’s WMS, delivered lightning-fast parcel sorting and real-time routing with RaaS ease. A big win for eComm and 3PLs chasing agility without the capex headache.
WIPOTEC + Cognex: Watchdogs of the Conveyor
Accuracy nerds, rejoice. WIPOTEC’s high-speed conveyor, paired with Cognex’s vision scanners, made weight, size, and barcode checks look effortless. It was compliance, validation, and precision all in one seamless, data-rich ride.
Modula VLMs: Vertical Space, Zero Waste
Modula brought vertical lift modules that delivered ergonomic access, perfect picking, and tight warehouse footprints. Beyond storing smarter, its sleek touchscreens and waist-high trays redefined how users interact, elevating both speed and ergonomics.
Axelent: Safety Gets the Spotlight
Inside a bold yellow-and-black container setup, Axelent demoed machine guarding, cable trays, and access systems in a walk-through mockup. Their modular safety zone was a cool masterclass in how to make compliance interactive.
Shelfbot by Automate-X: Aussie Innovation, On Demand
Made in Melbourne and proud of it, Shelfbot showed how modular, rack-climbing AMRs can handle high pick rates with plug-and-play simplicity. Designed for fast installs and faster fulfilment, it’s tailor-made for retailers and eComm brands ready to scale.
OPEX SureSort: Sort-to-Light, Fast and Tight
OPEX’s SureSort AMRs moved like chess pieces: smart, efficient, and never in the wrong place. With LED-guided bins and bidirectional rail bots, this system is every small-parts picker’s dream. Add in RaaS scalability, and it is automation with zero guesswork.
VISY + Packsize X7: Smarter Boxes, Less Waste
This was right-sized packaging with a vengeance. The Packsize X7, backed by VISY, measures, cuts, glues, and seals boxes to fit every order perfectly. With speeds up to 600 boxes/hour, this booth proved that sustainability doesn’t mean slowing down.
SEER Robotics SPT-1000: Pallets on Autopilot
SEER’s sleek bot moved with brains, not just wheels. With 360° sensors, multi-mode navigation (SLAM + NFL), and a 1000kg payload, this AMR was built for tight aisles and tighter timelines. Autonomous pallet handling never looked so smooth.
KNAPP Open Shuttle: Logistics, Unleashed
KNAPP’s autonomous AGV with roller conveyor top rolled freely through the crowd, dodging obstacles with LIDAR and flair. It was a highlight reel for smart intralogistics where retail, healthcare, and fashion meet real-time, automated transport.
BevChain x Linfox x Swisslog: The Mega Move
At the heart of Lion’s Sydney operation is Swisslog’s PowerStore: 37 monorail trolleys, 20 robotic carriers, and a warehouse smarter than your inbox. Built for high-volume beer logistics and powered by Linfox, this was proof that big automation delivers big results.
