About the Show
Launched and led by BusNSW in partnership with the Bus Australia Network, the Australasia Bus & Coach Expo is the sector’s flagship, bringing manufacturers, body builders, component suppliers, operators, and public agencies together on one show floor. The 2022 edition set a high-water mark with a world-class display footprint and a major emphasis on zero-emission technology, reinforcing the Expo’s purpose: showcase innovation, support safety and compliance, and connect every link of the passenger-transport supply chain.
In 2026, the Expo returns with plans for 13,000+ sqm of displays featuring new vehicles, technologies, and services. Attendees can expect a concentrated mix of exhibits, learning, and networking designed to move the industry forward, pairing product launches on the floor with practical demonstrations and opportunities to meet peers, customers, and decision-makers from across Australasia.
Key Features of the Show
Zero-Emission Technology Showcase
Battery-electric and hydrogen models are a defining theme of the Expo, with OEMs using the show to spotlight propulsion, charging, and fleet transition solutions. In 2022, zero-emission tech dominated the floor, setting expectations for an even deeper focus in 2026. Attendees can benchmark platforms and infrastructure choices in one sweep.
Bus, Chassis & Equipment Display Areas
Dedicated display areas group buses, chassis, and key equipment so buyers can compare builds, components, and fit-outs side by side. This structured layout streamlines procurement conversations for operators and specifiers. It also helps suppliers showcase full system solutions rather than isolated parts.
Industry & Government Briefings (Opening Program)
The Expo’s opening program brings policy and industry leaders to the floor for briefings and remarks that frame current priorities. In 2022, NSW’s transport minister and senior BusNSW leadership addressed attendees at the kickoff. Expect similar high-level context to shape the 2026 conversation.
Show Socials: Volvo Welcome Function & Industry Gala
A branded welcome function (previously the Volvo Welcome Function) sets the tone for two days of deals and demos. The program has also included an industry Gala Dinner—prime time for reconnecting with peers and customers. These set-piece gatherings turn floor interactions into lasting partnerships.
On-Stand Launches & First-Look Reveals
Manufacturers use the Expo for headline unveilings and Australian first looks. At the last edition, Yutong debuted its C12e electric bus among other premieres. The 2026 floor is positioned for similar product reveals that matter to fleet planners.
Recognition on Day One: BusNSW Bus Driver of the Year Awards
The Expo has hosted the presentation of BusNSW’s Bus Driver of the Year awards, celebrating excellence across metropolitan and regional categories. Recognising frontline talent underscores the event’s community and safety focus. It’s also a drawcard for operators bringing teams to the show.

Why Should You Exhibit?
- Unveil What Moves You: This is where manufacturers and suppliers roll out their latest models, parts, and tech in front of an audience that actually buys fleets, not just browses brochures. Exhibiting lets you debut innovations where operators and government are actively scouting their next big purchase.
- Plug Into the Zero-Emission Buzz: With the industry pivoting to battery-electric and hydrogen, the Expo is ground zero for green transport solutions. Exhibiting here positions your brand as a leader in the sustainability conversation and puts you at the centre of future fleet decisions.
- Turn Show Traffic into Fleet Contracts: Every delegate on the floor is either running buses, building them, or setting policy around them, meaning the conversations are as real as the deals. Exhibiting ensures you’re in front of decision-makers who can turn interest into contracts.
- Be Part of the Industry’s Big Stage: From government briefings to driver awards and gala dinners, this Expo isn’t just a trade show but the sector’s main event. Exhibiting places your brand in the thick of the action, reinforcing credibility while you connect with the entire ecosystem.
