When the Australian Defence Force (ADF) set out to engage Australia’s next generation across the Navy, Army, and Air Force, they knew that visibility was only half the battle.
The real mission? Creating a consistent, high-performance recruitment presence that could scale nationally, from major cities to remote regions, without losing impact.
From January to August 2025, ADF Careers partnered with Expo Centric to deliver 16 custom exhibition stands across Australia’s largest and most diverse career expos, with more still to come in September.
Together, we turned each appearance into a purpose-built recruitment engine, designed to spark curiosity, drive conversations, and capture expressions of interest on the spot.
Where Exhibiting Meets Enlistment
ADF Careers saw career expos as active, high-yield recruitment funnels. In 2025, the challenge was clear:
- Scale: 16+ events in eight months, each with unique venues, audiences, and space allocations.
- Consistency: A cohesive brand presence recognisable from Brisbane to Melbourne.
- Conversion: Designs that guide visitors from first glance to formal application within minutes.
The solution was a strategic exhibiting program that fused creative design, logistical precision, and modular flexibility, ensuring ADF Careers could meet thousands of potential candidates where they are, and move them confidently into the recruitment pipeline.
Our Smart Exhibiting Formula
For this strategic national rollout, we applied our proven smart exhibiting blueprint:
- Flow – High-visibility entries, intuitive layouts, and clear sightlines that led visitors naturally through service-specific zones.
- Engagement – Hands-on simulators, full-scale vehicles, and engaging tech activations that brought ADF roles to life.
- Conversion – Strategically placed Category Counters showcasing different aspects of the ADF, recruiter seating areas, and on-the-spot iPad sign-up points to capture leads in the moment.

Same Impact, Every Location
From a 6×3m stand at VCE Careers Expo to a 46×16m space at Toowoomba Careers Expo, every build carried the same ADF DNA: bold black-and-orange branding, illuminated 3D logos, dynamic AV content, and recruiter-led engagement points.
By leveraging our Aluvision modular system, we created consistent builds that could be reconfigured across stand sizes and orientations. This capability allowed us to deliver a unified recruitment story nationwide while maximising efficiency through reusability.
The result? ADF’s brand was instantly recognisable, whether you saw it in a regional stadium or a major convention centre.
